Training in conversion optimization and UX

Workshops and training: we pass on what we know.

Why visitors buy or leave is our daily business. In workshops and training sessions we show your team what we apply in projects: what keeps visitors from buying, which principles of buying psychology help and how to test a change cleanly.

  • Talk, masterclass or training session
  • With analyses of real stores
  • Knowledge from over 300 store audits

DATWe trained the internal team and held a live workshop.

Case example

Training and live workshop for DAT.

We trained the internal team of Deutsche Automobil Treuhand and held a live workshop. Not every agency does that. For us it is part of the job: what your team understands itself stays in-house when a project ends.

Bookable for your team

How a workshop runs

Four steps, from the goal to the first hypothesis.

Every workshop begins with a goal and ends with putting what was learned straight into practice. What we show, we apply ourselves in our projects.

  1. Schritt 1: Define the goal

What should your team be able to do afterwards?

In the intro call we clarify who takes part, what the group already knows and what they need the knowledge for. The format follows from that, from a talk to an internal training session.

    • Who takes part and with what prior knowledge
    • One goal, written down in one sentence
    • Format and scope

ResultGoal and format are set before we prepare.

  2. Schritt 2: Prepare

Examples from real stores, from yours if you like.

We put the content together according to your goal and find an example for every point. If you like, we use your own store for this. Then it is about your own pages from the start.

    • Topics matched to the goal
    • One example for every point
    • Your own store as the case, on request

ResultAn agenda for the session that you know in advance.

  3. Schritt 3: Live workshop

    Explain, show, look together.

We explain the 545 method and the four forces that act on every purchase decision. Then we analyze live where visitors hesitate and why. We answer questions directly on the example.

    • The 5 decisions on the way to purchase
    • The 4 forces that act on each one
    • Live analysis, questions answered on the example

ResultThe goal: your team sees a store through the eyes of its buyers.

  4. Schritt 4: Apply it yourself

Your team writes the first hypothesis itself.

At the end, participants formulate their own hypotheses in the format If, Then, Because and check whether an A/B test is worth it or the order volume is not enough. That shows during the session what has sunk in.

    • If we change X, we expect Y, because Z
    • Is a test worth it at your order volume?
    • Open questions from your day-to-day work

ResultYour team's first hypotheses, written during the session.

Topics

What your team learns with us.

You choose what is needed. All topics come from the 545 method we use to work on stores: 5 decisions lead to a purchase, 4 forces act on each one, 5 steps lead from measurement to decision.

  1. The 545 method

Notice, Stay, Want, Act, Return. Each of the five decisions can be read from one metric, from click-through rate to repeat purchase rate.

  2. What keeps people from buying

Slow load time, unclear navigation, late shipping costs, missing payment method. We show with examples how to recognize where visitors hesitate.

  3. Buying psychology

Ease, framing, loss, reassurance: how each of the four forces works in the store. We leave out fake countdowns and artificial scarcity.

  4. Measure and narrow down

Is the tracking right? Where does the store lose the most buyers in absolute terms, not just in percent? We draw conclusions only from verified numbers.

  5. Writing hypotheses

If we change X, we expect Y, because Z. We practice turning an observation into a testable assumption, backed by data and customer voices.

  6. Setting up A/B tests cleanly

Write down the hypothesis before the start, calculate the required order volume in advance, evaluate by significance. And recognize when a test delivers no result.

Common questions

Questions about workshops and training.

Formats, cost, scope: the short answers. Whatever stays open, we clear up in the intro call.

Ask your open questions

Which workshops and training sessions do you offer?

A talk or a masterclass, an internal training session or a live workshop. Plus two specific occasions: training your team after a migration, and the handover when you bring conversion optimization in-house.

Which format fits depends on the goal. We clarify that in the intro call.

What does a workshop cost?

It depends on format, scope and preparation. A talk is a different effort from a workshop on your own store.

We give you a price once goal and format are set. Before that, it would be a guess.

Who is conversion optimization training for?

For teams that want to build conversion optimization in-house, and for everyone who decides on pages, copy and design of your store.

We do not require prior knowledge. We ask beforehand what your team already knows and start from there.

Do you work with our own store in the workshop?

If you like, yes. On your own store everyone sees immediately where the content applies, and the hypotheses at the end concern your own pages right away.

Without your own store as the case, we show every point with examples from other stores.

Workshop or conversion optimization: which fits us?

In the workshop your team learns how we work. In conversion optimization we do the work: measure, narrow down, explain, design and test, in cycles of 6 months.

The two can be combined. If you bring optimization in-house later, we hand over with a training session.

What knowledge is your team missing?

Tell us in 30 minutes who takes part and where things get stuck today. You speak with David Pehl or Anas Elimani and hear openly which format fits, or whether a workshop is not the right step right now.
